My husband and I, along with my parents, a total of four of us, used the service.
Due to the pandemic, we hesitated to take a family trip, but in order to enjoy time with my parents, whom we hadn't seen in several years, we chose to rent this entire house instead of staying at a hotel or inn.

Thanks to this, I was able to visit temples on the west side of Kyoto, including Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kinkakuji Temple, Ninna-ji Temple, and Myoshin-ji Temple. I enjoyed using the sunken kotatsu, soaking in the cypress wood bath, and drinking coffee and tea. I was able to truly relax. I will definitely use this place again if I ever come to Kyoto.

My spouse, our parents, and I, four of us in total, stayed here.
Due to the pandemic, we hesitated to have a family trip, but we decided to use this place instead of a hotel or ryokan to enjoy with our parents whom we hadn't seen for the past few years.
We consulted with AKIRA beforehand about the plan, and he promptly responded to changes in our travel itinerary and visiting times. Thank you very much for that.

Thanks to that, we were able to visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kinkaku-ji Temple, Jingo-ji Temple, and Myoshin-ji Temple on the western side. We were able to spend our time at a leisurely pace. It felt somehow nostalgic, yet also strangely surreal. The children naturally blended in, and even the sight of them feeding the goldfish seemed like an ordinary part of their daily lives.
I think this is the perfect way to enjoy a traditional Kyoto townhouse.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, I saw this as an opportunity to re-examine the charms of Kyoto, and I wanted to share today's discoveries with others.

The beautiful colors and rich use of accent colors indoors made for a very pleasant stay. Here are a few things that particularly impressed me.

・Kimono on the stairs

- Air conditioner bamboo,
- The window side of the second-floor room facing the street was cut at an angle.

- When reheating the bathwater, hot water is gushing out from the gaps in the wooden boards.

And so on, I think I can find even more. I'll look forward to the next opportunity.

I was really looking forward to my trip to Kyoto, where I could "stay like a local" in a traditional Kyoto townhouse,

It was more fulfilling than I had imagined.

I initially thought that the layout of the townhouse would be inconvenient,

I was surprised by how well-ventilated the kitchen, the raised Japanese-style seating area, and the dining room were, making it easy to communicate with each other.

The blend of Japanese and Western interior design is exquisite. Foreign guests are sure to be very satisfied.
